The Sembrich Presents Lakeside Screening of The Maestro (2018)

The Sembrich continues its 2021 Free Film Festival with a lakeside screening of the 2018 film The Maestro on Monday, August 2 at 7:30 PM. Viewers will journey to Hollywood following the Second World War and dive into the vast world of film music. This is a riveting first-hand glimpse, through the eyes of composition student Jerry Hearst, of the mentorship of the noted composer and teacher Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Written by C.V. Hearst, the son of the film’s protagonist, this masterpiece for the big screen recalls the daunting struggles to balance the pressures of family and an innate musical calling through the career of a successful artist.

“We are excited to continue our Free Film Festival with The Maestro,” says Director of Outreach Caleb Eick. “We look forward to welcoming newcomers and old friends alike to learn more about the world of film music and some of its major figures through this thrilling film.”

Admission is free and guests are encouraged to make reservations online at TheSembrich.org. The screening will take place under a performance tent on The Sembrich’s lakeside grounds. For more information, visit The Sembrich’s website or call their office at (518) 644-2431.
