The New York Crimean Tatar Ensemble
Join us to celebrate Ukraine and the rich culture and traditions of the Crimean Peninsula. Called “a jewel of the United States’ Crimean community,” the New York Crimean Tatar Ensemble is the only U.S-based group performing the exquisite traditional music of their heritage.

GALA: Tenor Leonardo Sanchez — “Mi México Querido” (“My Beloved Mexico”)
Join us for an elegant cantina-style evening on the Sembrich lakeshore featuring a rising star from the world of opera, tenor Leonardo Sánchez.
After five years in Europe, Leonardo has returned to his native roots with a program that evokes the color, tradition, and passion of his beloved Mexico. First place winner of the Special Prize and the Youth Revelation Prize in the "Carlo Morelli" National Singing Competition at the Opera of Bellas Artes in Mexico, Leonardo Sánchez is the youngest tenor to have won this contest, considered the most important prize in Mexico and Latin America.
A not-to-be-missed evening of song and sentiment accompanied by the guitar, guitarrón, vihuela, and accordion – pillars of traditional Mexican music.

Genghis Barbie
Promenade Series
This all-female horn experience – with arrangements of pop music from all eras, contemporary commissions and classical works – is the most innovative and energizing chamber ensemble of its generation.

Hamilton – The Man, The Musical, The Cultural Phenomenon
A multi-media presentation by theater historian John Kenrick on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s trailblazing blending of hip-hop and Broadway styles to create the revolutionary musical Hamilton. Kenrick will share performance videos that lend insight into how the life story of America’s most controversial founding father became the basis for one of the most acclaimed Broadway musicals of all time.

On the cusp of his 30th birthday, a promising young theater composer navigates love, friendship and the pressures of life as an artist in New York City. Directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and introduced by Broadway expert John Kenrick.

SOUND TRAILS, an Immersive Soundscape
Flonzaley Resident Artist
Created by composer Jesse Gelaznik, SOUND TRAILS invites the listener into a musical fantasy, via their smartphone, as they walk the Sembrich trails, creating an experience that blends technology with poetry, music, nature and the human voice.

Philip Kates and Members of The Philadelphia Orchestra
Alfred Z. Solomon Masterwork Series
An evening of musical delights and undiscovered gems, featuring a guest appearance by Elizabeth Starr Masoudnia for a performance of Francaix’s captivating Quartet for English horn and strings. Solo English hornist of The Philadelphia Orchestra since 1995, Elizabeth Starr Masoudnia has toured the globe with the Orchestra to wide critical acclaim with many of the world's finest conductors.

Grosse Isle
The traditional music trio Grosse Isle was born out of the “absolutely magical” collaboration between three exceptional musicians from Quebec and Ireland (The Irish Music Magazine). Together, Sophie Lavoie du Lac-St-Jean (fiddle, piano, vocal), André Marchand the legendary (guitar, vocal), and Fiachra O’Regan, Irish champion (uilleann pipes, whistle, banjo) shine with their rich and enveloping music. These musicians all have a national and international reputation as a duo mainly in the case of Sophie & Fiachra and within several groups for 40 years as far as André Marchand is concerned (La Bottine Souriante, Les Charbonniers de l’Enfer and others).
Seagle Festival Children’s Opera: The Ugly Duckling
Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale, this charming hour-long family-friendly outdoor performance explores important themes of diversity and tolerance, encouraging young people to accept differences in other people. An ideal introduction to opera for both young and old alike!

Boyd Meets Girl
Promenade Series
Australian classical guitarist Rupert Boyd and American cellist Laura Metcalf share their brilliant, eclectic mix of music, from Debussy and Bach to Radiohead and Beyoncé. The duo has toured the world sharing their eclectic mix of music and their two studio albums have been streamed well over 2 million times on Spotify alone.

Marin Alsop, Leonard Bernstein's protégé, reveals how she smashed the glass ceiling to become an internationally renowned conductor, becoming the first woman to serve as music director of a multitude of renowned orchestras.

“A Tribute to David Smith” with Hub New Music
Alfred Z. Solomon Masterwork Series
The Sembrich and The Hyde Collection present two newly commissioned works honoring modernist sculptor David Smith, who lived and worked in Bolton Landing. Called “contemporary chamber trailblazers” by the Boston Globe, Hub New Music is a “nimble quartet of winds and strings” (NPR) forging new paths in 21st-century repertoire. The ensemble’s ambitious commissioning projects and “appealing programs” (New Yorker) celebrate the rich diversity of today’s classical music landscape.

Alma Mahler and Her Charmed Circle

Discover the life and inspirations of turn-of-the-century muse and femme fatale, Alma Mahler. Featuring quotes from Alma’s diary and music by Mahler, Strauss, and Schoenberg performed by Robert Osborne, bass-baritone and Tammy Hensrud, mezzo-soprano. Followed by a lakeside Viennese tea.

The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing - Evelyn Nesbit and the Scandal, Murder and Trial of America’s Gilded Age
Studio Centennial Benefit
This presentation with vintage photos by Betty Spinelli is a true tale of forbidden love, jealousy and mental instability that resulted in a shocking, cold-blooded murder, at a rooftop theater in New York City in front of nearly a thousand witnesses. The ensuing “trial of the century” mesmerized the public and helped close the curtains on America’s “Gilded Age.” As this bizarre story unfolds, you will be amazed to discover several local connections to Saratoga and Lake George. Followed by a lakeside champagne reception featuring a signature cocktail inspired by the era.

Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet
Touba Family Foundation World Music Wednesdays
Latin GRAMMY Award-winner Pedro Giraudo masters the passionate music of his native Argentina with a performance that celebrates tango and its traditional roots while exploring contemporary sounds. Giraudo debuted his own Tango Orchestra at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing in July 2015 and since then has become an active cultural ambassador of this beautiful music from his homeland.

An outstanding eight-piece ensemble from the Adirondack Jazz Orchestra brings the excitement of Dixieland, blues, bebop, funk and contemporary jazz to the Sembrich lakeshore.

A Piano Recital by Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner
Alfred Z. Solomon Masterwork Series
“Mesmerizing artistry and extraordinary ability to communicate” (The Post-Standard) describes 25-year-old Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner, winner of the 2022 Concert Artists Guild Competition. Sanchez-Werner’s multi-faceted artistry has been featured on NPR, PBS, CNN International, the Wall Street Journal, and WDR-Arte. A compelling evening of music by Schumann, Liszt, Haydn, Ponce and Stravinsky.

In the Footsteps of Piatigorsky
The Sembrich and The Hyde Collection bring you this season’s member appreciation event! Join us for a studio talk and performance by cellist Evan Drachman with pianist Michael Clement dedicated to Drachman’s celebrated grandfather, Gregor Piatigorsky, one of the pre-eminent string players of the twentieth century. Drachman will explore the Adirondack life of his cellist grandfather through stories and music significant to Piatigorsky, including original compositions, arrangements and often performed works. Selected repertoire for the program includes music by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and Rubinstein.
