Christopher Johnson In Concert

Pianist Christopher Johnson presents an exciting program of virtuosic reimaginings, ranging from Rachmaninoff’s monumental Variations on a Theme by Corelli, Op. 42, to Beethoven’s charming 6 Variations on 'Nel cor piu non mi sento, Debussy’s delightful Children’s Corner Suite, and the dazzling transcription by Schulze-Evler of Johann Strauss’ On the Beautiful Blue Danube. Johnson sets the scene for an evening of keyboard enchantment with a sampling of etudes by Chopin.

Christopher Johnson, whose career has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America, and Europe, has appeared at The Sembrich over a dozen times. Even when the studio was closed due to the pandemic, Christopher provided memorable online performances for the Sembrich audience of Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 31, No. 3 and his Appassionata and Pastorale sonatas.
