“It is always a pleasure to have our friends from Seagle Festival perform at The Sembrich,” says The Sembrich’s Executive Director Suzanna M. Bernd. “For many years Seagle Festival and The Sembrich have partnered to bring superb performances to Bolton Landing. We are also looking forward to having them back to perform a children’s opera program later this summer!”

“Coming to the Sembrich each year for our season preview is one of our favorite things to do.  We have met so many new friends there who regularly come to Schroon Lake for our shows,” says Seagle Festival’s Artistic Director Darren K. Woods. “It is also just so important for all of our arts organizations to collaborate, and this is a collaboration that has lasted more than 25 years.”

Seagle Festival is the premier opera and musical theater producing organization in the Adirondack region of upstate New York, as well as the oldest summer vocal training program in the United States.

Soprano Marcella Sembrich (1858-1935) and baritone Oscar Seagle (1877-1945) are two of the early 20th century’s most recognizable celebrities, particularly for their work on the operatic stage opera and as famous voice teachers. Both singers established their singing schools in upstate New York where young singers could learn and be inspired by the beauty of the Adirondack mountains and lakes. Today, both names are still well-known locally through The Sembrich and Seagle Festival, the two organizations charged with carrying on the legacies of their respective founders.

This event will be held outdoors under The Sembrich’s lakeside performance tent. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at TheSembrich.org/festival or by calling (518) 644-2431.
